Scriptures Everywhere: A monthly (virtual) seminar and podcast
What are scriptures? What is the work people make scriptures do?
Join us monthly on the first Friday at 10am Pacific US Time (via Zoom) as a learning community, where we reflect together on the relationship between scriptures and particularly persistent themes in the world around us.
Each season lasts about four sessions and will focus on a different theme.

Join us via Zoom this fall to reflect critically on “memory” ahead of our ISS annual meeting February 5–7, 2026 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. We will be using Zora Neale Hurston’s Barracoon as a conversation partner as we think together about scriptures and memory.
We begin on September 5, 2025 at 10am PT (1pm ET) with a discussion on memory with a focus on names and naming. Subsequent sessions will take place on October 3, November 7, and December 5.
